Our goal is to determine what brought the client to his/her addiction in order to provide the most effective treatment. Our rehab philosophy is based on the belief that the client’s addiction is a symptom of a much deeper emotional state of mind. Additionally, clients are able to meet with the counseling staff to assess their readiness for change – as well as to educate and assist the detox client in developing an appropriate discharge plan.įairview Treatment Center offers the client intensive inpatient therapy for up to thirty (30) days. Clients undergo detox for a minimum of three days and up to seven days depending on their condition. ![]() The detox unit is staffed by local physicians, along with a full nursing staff, to make certain all medications provided are appropriate and are given in accordance with the medical protocol for this program. ![]() The detox program at Fairview Treatment Center is a medically monitored program that offers clients a means to safely withdraw from alcohol and/or substance abuse. While these program will retain their former names for the time being, OHL is thriled to add these programs under its continuum of care and we look forward to providing services in south central Louisiana. Though they bear the Odyssey House name, the treatment centers have operated as independent entities since the 1980s.As of July 2022, OHL has assumed operations of three substance use disorder treatment programs in Bayou Vista, Louisiana. Odyssey House Therapeutic Communities are found across the States, as well as Australia (NSW-1977, Victoria-1979) and New Zealand (Auckland-1980, Christchurch-1985). Under the new business agreement, each organization will continue to exclusively serve those same populations, while Cenikor will handle all administrative services and provide financial support for Odyssey House. In July 2010, Cenikor Foundation formed a strategic partnership with Odyssey House Texas. Spindletop continues to make contributions to Odyssey House. After research by then-president Orville Gaither and his wife Margaret, the two organizations came together, and in 1988 the property was conveyed to Odyssey House. a non-profit corporation supported by the gas and oil industry with a mission of helping youth in need, that happened to receive a gift of property in the 1980s. Odyssey House Texas got its start thanks to Spindletop Charities, Inc. ![]() Judianne Densen-Gerber, a resident psychiatrist working at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City who, dissatisfied with the practice of using drug replacement medications such as methadone as the primary therapeutic intervention, started a "drug free" programme in 1966. ![]() The first Odyssey House, in East Harlem, was established by Dr. Odyssey House Texas is one of many Odyssey House Therapeutic Communities around the world. At that time, local families who had lost their children to drugs, alcohol and death identified the need for an effective and affordable program. Odyssey House Texas, located in Houston, Texas is a private not-for-profit organization established in 1989 to provide treatment and education to youth and families whose lives have been devastated by drugs, alcohol, and abuse.
